Terrasolid major version number has changed from 007 to 008 in April 2008. For new versions you need new licenses. The licenses can be floating - pool licenses in Windows network - or node-locked workstation licenses.
Pool licenses are stored in license pool folder of your Windows Server. Users from Client PCs can request license for selected application and given period from the pool. Pool licenses allow more flexibility compared to node-locked licenses because your working is not bound by nominated PC. User can also extract licenses from server to his laptop for defined period.
Moving to pool licenses:
- 1. Select some network PC, e.g. your own, which is not your most official server. Terra License Server is not yet (in 2009) a service but an application
- 2. Download license_server_08.zip
- 3. Read the User's guide of pool licenses
- 4. Install Terra License Server to server
- 5. Install Terra License Manager to client PCs. Notice that Manager needs admin rights from user (will be changed in 2009)
- 6. Test connection between server and client. If you encounter problem, test connection.
- 7. Read FAQ and look at the animations on right if you encounter problems
- 8. Register your server at https://www.terrasolid.fi/en/registration as 'Valid customer'.
